This is the actual story of the sweet bee - true story.
One afternoon on the ranch, we found a honeybee on the floor near the door. She was alive, but barely moving — tired from her final days of foraging.
Our youngest kiddo walked into the kitchen and got a roll of paper towel. He set it on the window seal and tore off a piece of the towel then slowly moved towards the bee. He bent over and gently picked her up to place her on a teaspoon which he had mixed a sugar and water slurry. He waited with her as she drank (the picture on the home page was taken by Aaron while she was resting).
For nearly an hour, she rested there. Then, slowly, she lifted her wings and flew back out into the world. We never knew if she made it home. The average life span of a bee is between 42-60 days and as a forger, she was probably at the end of her life cycle.
In that moment, we understood something important.
Life is beautiful, delicate and worth cherishing in all phases.
